Dear 2015:

You are the year I learned to become independent. You are the year I graduated high school. You are the year I moved out of my parents house. You are the year I started college in a different city. You are the year my health started to decline. You are the year that I traveled to two different places on opposite sides of my country. You are the year that a couple of my friends have passed away. You are the year that I developed a desire to travel, and to blog about life. You are the year my baby sister turned sixteen. You are the year I learned to identify myself as my own and that being a follow will get me nowhere but lost. You are the year I switched my major in college three times before even finishing my first semester. You are the year I laughed a whole lot. You are also the year I was convinced I couldn’t cry anymore. You are the year I learned that friends can walk out of your life just as easily as they walked in. You are the year I finally convinced myself that I am not lost like many people have told me, but more or less, I am wandering. You are the year that I decided to reach out to those who are professional trained to help me sort through some of the shit my life has handed me. And so much more.

Dear 2015:

As you can tell, I have a lot from you. You quite honestly were not my best year, but I believe in my heart that you were somebody’s BEST year. You were the year that a man and woman became a father and mother. You were the year that somebody finally landed a position with their dream job. You were the year that a man finally find the courage to purpose to his girlfriend. You were the year that someone finished their first marathon and that was an accomplishment they have been waiting their whole life to fulfill. You were the year that changed somebody’s life in the best possible way. So, thank you.

Dear 2015:

Put in a good word for me as 2016 approaches.

Sincerely,

Someone who loves and hates you at the very same time.
