Here are a few things I think you need to know as you get your week started:
(Just in case no one has told you…)
1. You are so worthy of being loved.
This is something I struggled with often. This concept that we, as humans, deserve and are so worthy of being loved. You reading this right now, say it out loud: I am worthy of being loved. Say it a few times, say it as many times as you need to make yourself believe it, because I promise you it is true.
2. Your struggles are worth talking about
Throughout the last few weeks I have really had a had time telling myself this, and believing it to be true. Regardless of the fact that I am not very good at telling myself that, I am such an advocate for making sure others understand this concept: your struggles are worth talking about. Again, going back to this whole idea of being worthy, you are. Please, if you are feeling sad or anything other than happy/content…please talk about what is bothering you. Talk about it to someone, or even write in a journal. DO NOT allow yourself to convince yourself that whatever you are feeling isn’t worth talking about, because it is. Your struggles are worth talking about.
3. Monday is such a short period of time
Monday’s are not fun, plain and simple. People don’t jump for joy over Mondays. I’m writing this post on a Monday. Understand that Monday is SUCH a short period of time. Just push through it, and before you know it it’ll be Tuesday, and then Wednesday, and then pretty much Friday! Yay! Dominate your Monday’s.
4. Be contagious this week:
You have no idea what your smile could do to someone walking by you. Your smile could be the first aid kit someone has eagerly been waiting for. Same something kind, and mean it. Do something extra to help someone else. Hold a door, pay for a coffee, hold the elevator…do something for someone else. Always remember that you could be that someone else needing some help. Be contagious.
5. Be patient with yourself
This week may be super easy, or it may be one of the toughest you have yet to face. Be patient with yourself and understand you are doing the absolute best that you can. If something doesn’t make sense, slow down and figure it out. If something does not go your way, make a new way. If someone says something hurtful, forgive them in that moment. Whatever you face this week, please be patient with yourself. The world is heavy enough to carry around, don’t put additional stress on your own shoulders.
