Yep-we have all been there. Some of us are there right now! Our brains are so overworked that we don’t even know how to pretend like we are being productive. I get it. For some of us this is our last finals week, for some it is our first! Either way…we almost always act as if we thought finals week would never come but here it is and we are freaking out. I am in the middle of my 4th finals week of college. . . and I’m still surprised at how overwhelmed I am each time. What the heck?! If nothing else please remember this as you fight through your finals week:

All of this craziness is going to be so worth it

Despite the fact that none of us really know what we are doing, we are doing great! If you are a senior in high school listen to me- DO NOT give up on the last lap of your race! You have done so well and all the work you’ve done up until this point has prepared you for these last couple of weeks. You are seconds (yes, seconds…it will feel like seconds) away from some of the best years of your life. If you are going to college-put on your running shoes because things are going to get crazy…real fast. If you are not, put on your running shoes because things are going to get crazy…real fast.

Being an adult is one of the most terrifying things you will ever do.

If you are in college remind yourself how worth it (the late nights, the no sleep, the hunger, the confusion, the being broke, the losing and gaining friends, the failing exams, the missed classes, the ramen noodles, the uncertainty, the campus walks, the memories, the BEST/WORST DAYS OF YOUR LIFE) are worth it. They are preparing you for the good things to come. On the days (like today) you feel like it isn’t worth it, whisper to yourself “this is what I want, and I am brave enough to do this-even on the days it doesn’t feel like it”.

All of this craziness is so going to be worth it. Remind yourself of that truth. 

Do whatever it is these next two weeks are asking of you and do them well.

If you can’t do them for current you…do them for future you.
